Oral Egg Challenge

Today’s the day!

Woke up not feeling frazzled. Just the usual morning irritation with Isaac because don’t wanna brush teeth don’t wanna change story.

Mummy had breakfast of avocado, smoked salmon, fried egg white and lettuce.

Isaac has not eaten because going to eat only at the hospital.

We’ve packed 3 hard boiled egg, 2 mantau and very small fried meehun.

8.50am: Registered and now taking his vital statistics.

The nurses are also checking his skin for redness and lesions, marking any existing eczema spots.

Fully intensively moisturized with physiogel AI right after the doctors review.

During the review she went through with us again the chances of reaction. Judging by his IgE levels of about 3, it was quite safe to challenge orally. He also could tolerate baked egg goods so that could be a good indicator that he may tolerate the egg challenge too.

As with any challenge, there is always a 50-50 chance it could go either way

Forgot to take photo of first dose because it was a challenge getting him to eat it. Had to bribe with tv watching and still refused. Mummy was getting very harsh. Nurse stopped mummy!

She “rescued” Isaac n told him “ok la no need eat egg, we give u your mantau only ok?”

Good. Hide the egg in small piece of mantau. Very good la nurses here.

After the first dose I went to take coffee. Just in case There’s anything, I shall go get coffee first.

Also to soothe the frazzled nerves.

9.55am: third dose.

10.15am chewing on his 4th dose and smiling at the tv show.

10.35am. 5th dose. Fed him 3 pcs 1 dollar sized mantau stuffed with mashed egg.

11.00am. 6th dose. This was quite a large amount so they mixed it with his meehun. Good idea!

Nyom nyom nyom. So glad he ate it. Daddy fed up. I think if I feed will be too jittery. Btw daddy has been feeding him all this while.

Then it was time to check his vital stats.

So far so good declared the nurses.

Hectic Day

Wow today was quite a tiring day.

Went to Office, went to regional hq and then gym then a property viewing. Fuuu 😓

Started off with salmon, fried egg whites and butterhead lettuce salad.

Did not have pictures of lunch because big big boss bought lunch

I had vegetarian lasagna and cup of flat white.

Gym today was quite tiring.

Did series of high rep low weight machine targeting arms and chest area intermittently with 30 squats and lunges. 4 sets of everything. Followed by sit ups with 5kg ball

Dinner of baked salmon with coconut aminos, asparagus and cauliflower rice.

MB property

I love the development for the huge pool, nice gym, tennis court and their other facilities.

When we stepped into the unit it was quite spacious.

Pros:

  1. Reasonable maintenance fee for lots of facilities
  2. 3 decent sized rooms with bomb shelter which can be converted to helpers room
  3. Wet and dry kitchen
  4. Spacious living with balcony which over look the massive pool.
  5. Master bedroom in the correct position for us.
  6. Literally next door to husbands work place.
  7. Next to market and ntuc fair price and foodie place.

Cons:

  1. Far from mrt.
  2. Nearer to a dodgy area (on the fringe) but not as dodgy as geylang la.
  3. Far from Isaac school and even further for Isaiah’s kindy
  4. Not so convenient for me to get to work vs current situation but it’s not bad either.
  5. Not much sheltered walk path to and fro. In rainy weather confirm I must change underwear when arrive at work lo.

But overall feel when we walk in was good. Took a walk around the development and I like it even better too.

We’ve one more place that I really like and would want to view before we can finally make a decision.

Fingers cross that the look will be over soon.

This Isaac has recently taken to selfieing himself. So funny la he.

And didi was suddenly in a position and I asked him if he wanted to poo poo in the toilet like big korkor.

Since he so FOMO, he totally said yes.

Tomorrow is Isaacs oral egg challenge

Omg wish us luck.

I am quite apprehensive knowing that egg what caused Isaac’s first anaphylactic reaction.

But his allergist said that it is quite safe to challenge now based on his IgE level.

Fingers crossed it will turn out fine.

We have been challenge him with pancakes made with 1 egg for 7 pancakes. He has tolerated it well.

So I’m really hopeful!!!!

I’ve asked the Helper to boil 3 eggs and bring in steam mantau and fried noodles for him to eat with his egg.

Hoozahhhh! Can’t explain this feeling of excitement yet also fearful feeling.

Development assessment

Wow last night was a terror. Isaiah wouldn’t stop crying. He woke up about 1.40am and cried his lungs out until 4.00am. Nothing pacified him until at 4.00am I couldn’t take it anymore, I went out and put him in the bouncer and climbed back to my bed to attempt to sleep.

Needless to say he cried the house down in his super honking cry kind of sound. Woke his brother and father up. Sigh!!!

Woke up so groggy. My legs are so wobbly.

Feel better after having my breakfast of smoked salmon, fried egg minus yolk and butterhead lettuce.

Annoyed at Isaiah because I’m suppose to be rested and paying attention this morning.

We are here now. I think probably know what the autism doctor going to say (negative for diagnosis) but I want her to confirm and suggest an action for his high anxiety.

Vital stats: 18kg, 113cm

Plan for Isaac

So preliminary assessment for autism with this consultant was good. She explains things quite well. Clearly guidance on how to help him was discuss. Nothing bombshell kind of statement. Basically nothing new that we already don’t know. We agreed on his management together

  1. Get psychologist to help him with his anxiety
  2. Get psychologist to access his social skills.
  3. Not to get him formally assessed as sometimes this label is stuck with him his whole life. It may not be a good time if proven otherwise
  4. Monitor him for couple of years to see if his “freaking out” at new situation improves.
  5. If all hell break lose during primary and he cannot cope, then we will revisit getting him formally assessed.

She does agree he is high functioning. No need extra support other than what is recommended. Mainstream school will be okay for him. He doesn’t need to go to pathlight or any special school.

He did ignore the doctor as usual, but he did engage with her on and off and answered some questions directed to him.

Dr says he is listening but pretending to be ignoring the new situation. Because new situation is scary for him and he retreats to himself and he is safe in his own mind, his own space. It did help a little when we prep him about visit to the doctor.

I told him we are seeing a doctor and she’ll talk to you, so please answer her. She wants to know if your happy or sad Isaac. He’s response when I said is to ignore me too. Haha.

Otherwise the visit was fruitful. Will get a psychologist appointment soon.

We were done at 10am and Isaac wanted to go McDonald’s. KKH ma, post review sure go have some French fries. Since it’s still breakfast time he had happy meal hash brown only.

I was dam shack from the non sleeping due to Isaiah so I wanted to whack food. Fillet o fish it is! I ate everything including the bun.

Then had an early lunch. Walk over to the new Marriott courtyard at 11am and had bagel. Cheese bagel with smoked haddock. It is so good!!!!! I love it.

Obviously today is not paleo.

Got back from work and had dinner around 7.15pm. I’m having loads of backlog at work. Currently taking on a stretch assignment so my FTE is 1.5 person. I’m going to chiong for 6-9months. And not only that, I have major fillings to do.

This morning he complained to the helper

“Yaya I cry yesterday because mummy beat me”

It’s true I smack his butt because we wouldn’t stop crying for 2 hrs straight.

When I got back from work the helpers turn to let me know he basically complaint but errthing.

👶🏻 I don’t want! Not nice.

Next he ask for banana and said the same thing. Same goes for milk. Ask for milk then tells her he doesn’t want because it’s not nice.

Regular Monday

Breakfast: 9.30am. Rushed out from home because woke up late. Had to pack breakfast to Office. If not, Isaac would be late for school too.

Smoked salmon from Alaska guys, butterhead lettuce and fried egg which my helper so kindly removed the yolks whilst packing it in.

Lunch: 12pm. Yong tau fu! My usual safe picks are 2 eggs, 2 brinjal, 1 yam, 1 okra and 1 leafy veg.

No more squid because of my fatty liver.

Marks & spencer was having 80% sale. Walked in and tempted by the chocolates that were going for $1 per box. So bought 2 small box.

Having kopi o kosong with 1 of the chocolates I bought. I kenut resist!!!!

Back from gym and dinner time!

7.15pm: wild caught salmon, Canadian scallops (both from The Alaska Guys) and stir fry okra with chili!

I was telling my PT that my cousins wedding is on the 17 March but it’s too late for me to Chiong and look fit. He thought hard for a minute and say “it can be done one!” – Just cardio everyday from now until 17 March. Very fast lose weight, he says. Ok.

Yesterday went for a short grocery shopping and saw this almond yogurt. First time seeing this and bought to try.

Had it after dinner as my dessert.

Verdict: very light tasting just like how almond milk is as well. But the texture abit too artificially fluffy. Checked the ingredients and it’s mix with tapioca starch and carob gum.

Don’t think I will buy this again although the idea ofit is good for dairy free alternative. Better than soy yogurt.

Tomorrow, we will be going for Isaacs development assessment.

A.k.a, to access wether he has high functioning autism.

Gulp!

I’m having abit of trepidation and it’s not entirely because of this assessment. On Thursday, he will also be going for his egg challenge.

I am nervous. I think that is a wee bit of understatement

Sunday. House viewing

First meal of the day. Lunch at 11.30am. Had Saba, veg tempura, salmon sashimi and chawan mushi. Not a drop of rice.

Took pics of them in their hats. Isaac being extra with his Brolly. Got that hot meh? Isaiah attempted to show the peace sign.

Both of them trying to touch each other hands. So cute.

Otw back from lunch got tired of holding didis hand. Big brother to the rescue. Must shield his didi from sun also he said. But you know where most of the umbrella was shading. Haha.

So glad they can eat bakwa. I need them to put on weight. 1 bakwa is 300 calories right? Wohoo. Eat la eat.

First house viewing

Nice place. Huge pool.

Both the kids running around and having a good time.

  • Pros:Master bedroom was huge with hidden walk in toilet. Airy sunken bath tub. Walked in and had a nice feeling
  • Cons: master bedroom position is in my total lost position and husbands bad luck position. Kitchen quite small. Common bath room smallish. Common bedrooms are sososososo small. Can only fit single bed each and no more space.

I guess it’s a no even though it’s quite windy. Only the MB is good size. Everything is a dud 👎🏼

Second viewing

  • Pros: good directions, decent size bedrooms. Huge common bathroom, good size master bedroom. Directions of master bedroom and kitchen is good. Both other rooms are in ok positions too. Living room spacious, kitchen workable. Utility room can be converted to helpers room. Has a diff section for dining. Overall feel was not bad even though it’s not 100% wow. But I’m growing to like it.
  • Cons: price! Hahaha duh.

So we made and offer and if owner is agreeable then we will take it and end our search.

And that means…

We will finally have our first home in Singapore!

Ah so our offer was rejected. Definitely did not low ball and gave a price slightly higher than the last transacted price. Owner was very firm and only want to sell at his quoted price. Too bad.

Have to keep looking.

Dinner time 6.50pm. Saba fish with kimchi soup.

Saturday after CNY leave.

Been back to work for 2 days and yesterday Went to the gym for the first time in 2 weeks. I am shack!I couldn’t get up this morning for my 11am PT session. Plus, didi was coughing the whole night and vomited his pleghm out. Cue the hourly night waking. By 6.30am he ask for milk and like a zombie had to go out to make him a bottle. He never ask for milk usually so he must be super thirsty. Boobing was not enough for him. This was Isaiah last night eating bacon from daddy and asking for “some more”. Note his husky voice.

Omg guys. Just sort off woke up and stood on the weighing machine. And *drumroll*

This is the lightest I’ve been in over a year!!!! 71.7kg!!!

What did the trick was cutting out egg yolk and animal fat. Previously mentioned on dayre my PT and I was wondering why I was not losing weight even though I kena tekan dam bad by him. So we agreed to try this strategy to see if it helps.

It’s almost 2 weeks and also binging throughout Chinese New Year and I lost 2kg almost!!! Jeng jeng jeng.

Taking out egg yolk is easy for me. But animal fat was harder! And serendipitously, I saw it was lent and Cikumuffin was observing it and I decided to follow her too!

I’ve not had meat in 2 weeks. Meat is my weakness. I love my medium done steaks. But these 2 weeks I substituted with loads of seafood.

My sil was impressed because she knew I went for bbq mookata and didn’t have any meat. I told her I had prawns and squid and clams. Have you tried grilling the clams on the mookata grill? Nice leh!

And I did not have any bakwa so far.

I also stopped eating my beef jerky.

It’s ok! After Easter I can have meat again. It’s not like it’s forever.

In the late afternoon I took my Helper to renew her contract and get her home leave application done.

Isaiah just woke up and was being quite clingy and didn’t let me leave the house, so we brought him along!

He was so happy to sit on the bus, terrorizing the personnel working in the agency with demands of:

  1. wanting a pen to sign something because I was holding one to sign the contract
  2. “Want paper” because I was signing on a paper too
  3. “Want money” because i paid for the fees and he wanted the money
  4. “Want water” because he saw the ladies water bottle and wanted a sip too

So funny la. The agency ppl couldn’t help but tease him with the money and water thing. Also not shy ah this boy, demand things here and there.

Dinner time at 6.30pm. Had aburi mentaiko kaisen don with salmon sashimi. Left 75% of the rice. Was still quite full from lunch.

Then went grocery shopping and called it a day.

Isaiah looked better today. No more fever but still has some chesty cough. Knocked out during bed time quite fast too.

7.10am. Breakfast of paleo waffles, 1 egg and 1 sausage.

Last night although Isaac fell asleep by himself without much fuss, he did wake up about 3 times.

1am, 2am and another god knows what time. I heard him the first time.

After that I’m just dead..

The father was the one who attended to him the 3 times.

He had a bad nightmare and was so scared he grabbed and hugged the dad so tight to sleep. The dad had to sleep with him until 6.15am and then only got back to our room.

Lunch 12.20pm.

Roast chicken with bell pepper.

7.15pm. Dinner.

I don’t know if this is even worth documenting anymore.

I’ve truly met a lot of good friends here and live in Singapore has not been so isolated since then.

I’ve actually felt more to Singapore with all the dayreans here.

Can’t wait to go home and eat dinner.

Thing 1 and thing 2 went down cycling. And now kicking some balls.

I did not dressed them 100% alike. Korkor always wants to dress like didi.

Even down to the same slippers. Haha

So happy! Putting my marinated beef in the dehydrator.

Since I’ve only used 3 trays for the beef, I’m just tossing in the blueberries to test it out too.

Ready to go! Will check in 4 hrs time.

Isaac knocked off the earliest tonight by himself just before 9pm.

He was tired today. Could tell from his extra crying. Didn’t walk in and out much of his room tonight. Maybe just 1 big time to my room and that’s it.

Tomorrow evening he can open his Zane and Kai.

Isaac did not wake up the whole night!!!

Couldn’t believe it.

This morning he got up about 6.15am, push open my door and shouted “mummy! I don’t like my door close!”

Then I mumbled ok because I was still sleeping. Then poof. No more sound.

My alarm rang at 6.45am. Went to check on him and he curled and wrap himself up in his blanket and was still fast asleep.

Woot!

3rd night a success!!

I don’t think this fasting thing is working out for me.

Look at what I’m eating at 8.40am since I skipped breakfast. Sighhh.

I think I rather eat my hot cooked breakfast than random shit in the mornings. Because I’m starving.

This IF thing worked for the first 2 weeks. I was more alert, no coffee needed and eating portion was less too.

Now I’m in 4th week and my bowels are not smooth anymore!!

I’m tired most of the time and I don’t have energy to go to lunch workouts!

And worse, now I’m back to using black tea and black coffee to power through the day.

Kombucha don’t help me anymore too.

Tomorrow, I shall go back to eating breakfast albeit a light one.

At least half a portion of my husbands.

12.10pm lunch.

Oh my goodness.

I just got my medical review results. Everything’s ok with blood works.

My cholesterol, tg levels came down.

But my ultrasound abdomen shows I have fatty liver.

Waist measurement came down from 91cm to 80cm.

And weight reduced only 1kg.

Blood sugar nothing remarkable as was last years.

This year opted for abdomen ultrasound because I’ve always had issues with bloating so decided to check it out.

I’m actually quite shock I got fatty liver. Because the cause of fatty liver are

1️⃣ overweight or obesity
2️⃣ alcohol consumption
3️⃣ metabolic syndrome
4️⃣ high fat in blood (TG)

Yes I am ✅ obese
But I am ❎ an alcoholic
❎ prediabetis or have high blood sugar or thyroid issues
❎ high fat in blood. In fact this round my TG has gone down from borderline high to DESIRABLE.

I’ve already been going to the gym 4 times a week for the past 2 months.

Previous 6 months is 3 times a week.

So the doctor advice is to reduce calorie intake.

Dinner 7.20pm

Grass fed rib eye steak. Ain’t gonna eat all the fats liow. I think the only reason my cholesterol was desirable is because we eat quality meat.

Raw spinach no dressing.

Gave 1/3 away to the husband who needs to grow bigger.

Tonight’s the 4th night Isaac went to sleep on his own after much “pattern”

He slept off about 9.40pm? Wasn’t sure. Was busy marinating beef 😆😆😆

Husband was in the loo so nobody entertained him and his wiles. And he just slept off.

20 mins before he was hungry and ate some fruits and was kaypo looking at me slicing beef and asking me what I’m doing. Told him I’m making jerky and he’s like “huh?”

Jerky? What’s that?

So I had to explain that it’s like bakwa only less sweet and dryer. Then his eyes went “ding”!

I love bakwa, can you buy for me please. Oh how bout can you make for me please etc. went on for abit describing his love for bakwa. Haha.

Wohooo

Isaac slept by himself most of the night.

Slept off at 9.30ish himself and at about 12.30pm we heard him crying outside our door.

Husband got up to usher him back to his room and sat with him for 2 mins. He manage to sleep off and only woke up this morning when the Helper went and wake him up about 7am.

We asked him to tick off the calendar because he manage to sleep by himself the whole night again.

Reward after 5 nights will be to open one of his Lego Xmas presents!

Brought these from home for healthy snacking before I break my fast.

But I think I’m going to go through the blueberries even before 10am.

I can’t stand it. I’m soooo hungry. Went downstairs to get inari tuna because I figured bean curd is protein and tuna is protein. Should be sustainable until 6.30pm

Came home and there was this bag on the table.

My helper ask me did I order. Cluess me also don’t know what’s happening.

Luckily I got the suspect correct! Ahahha

She’s one generous and cray cray person. Don’t worry about ever going hungry with her around!

And waiting in my room there’s another parcel!!!

6.00pm. Dinner time.

Cauliflower rice.

Stir fried sweat pea.

Wohooo. Isaac slept before 9.30pm.

After much warning of telling him not to step out of the room and he can do whatever he wants in the room. He must also not make too loud of a sound.

Whined a few times complaining it’s cold, saying we are too loud and that he doesn’t like his room.

Reminded him again that as long as he’s in his room and with the doors open he can do whatever he wants.

And by 9.20pm, no more noise from him.

Winning by baby steps.

Sleep Training – Day 2

This is Isaac this morning.
He kept crying and refusing to sleep by himself last night. After a while he stopped crying and took book after book to read.

After the 4th book I told him go lie down on the bed to read, if not, my catwoman voice is coming out. (Cat woman voice obviously scarier than Batman voice la haha)
Scurried back into his room, heard him sniffling meow meow sound and then quiet. It was about 10.15pm when I check on him, he was sleeping soundly in the middle of his bed, wrap

up like a dumpling in his blanket.

He was sleeping on the dads pillow, must be the dads smell. His own pillow don’t want to sleep on.

This is him at 4am, crying loudly wanting someone to sleep with him again.

At least he didn’t barge into our room like he usually does because I told him last night that he’s not allowed in our room anymore.

So the dad got up, walk him to his room, told him to settle down.

Dad will give him 2 mins to fall asleep by himself and then dad will walk out.

Isaac was still crying and sniffling but lying down and mumbling wanting someone to sleep with him blablabla

KNOCK OUT!

And the husband came back to the room but couldn’t sleep.

Every sound that he heard, he was half expecting Isaac to cry and run back to our room again.

Fuuuu dunno la.

Everyone’s zombie this morning.

Probably will continue sleep training until CNY holidays where we’re going back to KL and grandparents will undo all the training again.

Oh haha wanted to jot down, yesterday we banked in money for lichun.

We also wore red.

Found it funny cos a non Chinese telling a clueless Chinese about this money making blessing thingy.

I was not outside because was putting Isaiah down for sleep. I could hear him bargaining and saying that his hungry etc.

Came out about 9am and told him “u want catwomen voice to shout at you now? Go into your own room and don’t come out.”

And he went in. And didn’t come out until 15-20 mins later.

Did his puppy dog eyes and ask the father to sleep with him.

We said no. U can leave the door open, but you can’t come out the room.

Then he ask if daddy can adjust the aircond because it was too hot. He wanted it cooler. So daddy went and made it cooler and said good night. “U can keep the door open but u can’t come out anymore.”

At about 9.45pm went to check on him, he was sound asleep! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😴😴😴😴😴

Whack this Isaac on his arms. The husband whack Isaac on his bump real hard cos he was wearing diapers.

And hubs also took a plastic ruler to smack his hands.

Ultimate punishment is that no one is going to sleep with him in his room. We don’t care if he cries and not sleep. No laying with him on his bed.

Poor didi.

Got his elbows scrapped and bloodied and got his face smashed on the edge of the door.

He slept off after all that crying. Manage to get the swell down by icing it.

Isaac is still not sleeping. He’s going to suffer tomorrow morning.

Cleaned out the whole vessel, rinse the scoby with drinking water to get rid of yeast strands coating it and made fresh brewed black tea.

I got to say, dropping off Isaac to school everyday has made me wake up earlier and try to be disciplined.

I am not a morning person and this is really a big change for me. I’m always squeezing in that extra 10 mins (or 1 hr lol) of sleep and hit the snooze button multiple times.

But, I hope this morning routine can last until the whole year.

I’ve sacked my previous PT because he did so many high impact moves which gave me my neck and shoulder injury.

Now I’ve a new PT and been with him for about 10 odd sessions and all we do is lift heavy weights. And I love it

Gives me an illusion that I’m strong and I hate cardio and high impact jumping burst moves because I’m so clumsy I will confirm fall.

So far didn’t lose weight but looks a bit toner.

Only way to lose weight fast also HIIT kind of cardio

Which I’m tying to add into lunch time at least once a week.

I lift weights 3-4 times a week so gonna start slow.

Clothes Decluttering Round 3\4

Round 3 or 4?

Since I’ve stopped pumping at work I’m gonna get rid of all my maternity and nursing clothes and put them up for sale or to throw.

Manage to sell 1 since putting it up few days ago.

Progress so far.

These are the bunch haven’t sort them out yet.

I went by categories
1) bra and panties
2) swimwear, socks
3) sports bra and sports clothes

Now tackling lounge clothes.

Wtf do I need so much “home clothes” for.

You know those clothes. Not nice to wear outside but to keep one day to wear inside house.

Previous rounds I’ve gotten rid of all T-shirt’s that were given by company n signing up for events.

Now touching everything to make sure i really don’t like them.

These 2 big box are easy.

Maternity and nursing clothes.

And clothes that I don’t like the colour and those when I wear them, they don’t flatter me and I don’t look good in them.

These are all my white tops.

I’m asking myself now, do I need to many white tops?

Obviously not!!!!

Looking at this pile I already know which one I confirm I cannot throw one. So ok, that makes it easier.

The rest, I don’t even know why I bought them.

Even after round 3-4 of closet decluttering, I still have 3 big boxes of clothes I don’t want.

Seriously man. I have too much clothes.

I’m certainly not at the minimalism level yet.

But Marie Kondoing my lifestyle is such a marathon. I can’t finish Kondoing my stuff yet because I’m at different stages of life.

At least I know the chapter of being pregnant and nursing is over, I can clear those clothes away with good conscience.

No point holding on to that maternity gown even though it’s beautiful. The gown has done its job of making my bump beautiful at an event.

I still have dinner dresses and gowns in the other wardrobe.

Winter clothes and winter scarfs and accessories.

And 5 t-shirts that Batdude proposed with. (Definitely can’t and won’t get rid of that!)

One day I will get to them.

Then my clothes decluttering will be complete!!

Hopefully by end of this year I can tackle them.

I also love decluttering because I move all the time.

It really helps after reading the Marie Kondo book that I truly only keep what I really like.

So next time when I move, I don’t have to lug 100% if useless stuff and pay movers for it! No money wasted and move only stuff that I love, need and really use.

I’m preparing myself so that when we have our permanent Singapore home, it is only filled with things that are useful and things that we really like.

Speaking of it, Isaac this afternoon has been “decluttering” his and his little brothers toys.

He has been wanting to open didis new Lego duplo box and I told him that he can only open it if he gives away some of his old toys.

1 big plastic bag. Told him to get a plastic bag from the kitchen and start selecting toys he doesn’t want.

He came out with the Taka plastic bag! It was huge. I expected only those fair price medium bags.
